Do you remember the Old Laurel Mississippi Fairgrounds Track. It was one of 4 tracks in the MS / AL / FL area that raced in the mid 1960's. Thursday Night the Super Modifieds were at Laurel, Friday night they went to Montgomery International, Saturday nights at Mobile and Sunday afternoon at Five Flags in Pensacola. The good drivers could make a living racing back then.

I only attended one race at the Laurel track, it was just too far to go on a school/work night. I definitely remember the guys who came down to the Coast to race for a living in those days, though.
