Southern Dirt is proud to present "Bizkit" as Driver of the week. Alabama Late Model driver, Kelly Hanvey from Cullman has gained many fans and friends since he started his racing career in 1995. Starting in hobby stock and moving to late model in 1996. Bizkit is a lover of life, sensitive, caring, has a sense of humor, very much his own person, not afraid to give his opinion when the need arises. When the Lord gave a woman "hair" for a covering, he knew that Bizkit is definitely all man!! *grin* Kelly gives the credit for being his back bone to his lovely wife Kerry. Kerry who is vice president at a bank, came to love racing after meeting Bizkit and loves and supports her husband no questions asked. Bizkit with that "grin" that we all know and love, refers to Kerry as the best thing since overalls and says she keeps him sane in an insane sport. "I am one lucky feller to have such a pretty lady in my corner" Biz said when talking about his wife Kerry. Bizkit's future plans are be the best he can be, never losing the determination to do and be better, help as many other racers as he can and should the time come he gives up the racing seat, be remembered as the driver who was a steady, and good racer, and most of all that he had fun and have people remember his smile. Kelly takes a different look at "fans" from the look some drivers have. To him it is one big family and if there are those who may not like him, he feels there is a bond or common interest, so if you are watching or racing all can relate and enjoy the sport together. Biz tries to make anyone he talks to feel they are "part" of the sport, and want to always make that visit to see and talk to him when they are at the same track where he is racing or by chance they see him in town, at a restaurant or any place they happen to run into him. Biz says" it's not fans it's family!!" For more information see the driver profile section for Kelly's profile.

Congradulations my man!!!!! Still haven't got to shake your hand, but nobody deserves it more IMHO. Anybody thinking otherwise read his write up on Mr. Hays. Never have told you this, but I bought me a new Trailblazer back in '04. I backed that bad boy up between 3 and 4 at the valley, opened up the hatch, laid the tailgate down sat down thinking I had me a good seat. You guys came out for hotlaps, and you filled that sonoun up with mud......lol.....At least it was new for a week. Take care man.

Thanks, for this award..I'm not too sure I'm worthy of this award, especially with the previous winners. But I do feel very honored..So thanks again and thank you bama for a great board.
Pap, I remember back that season, there was a fellow motioning me to enter turns 3 higher up the track, he was motioning me like he knew who I was. Well I barried that baby in higher up in 3, actually never even cracked the throttle. When we got done hot lapping, that fellow was moving his vehicle, never did know who he was, but he helped me get around the track faster that night at GVS

I wasn't the one telling you to run high, but I sure was one of several around me that was moving thier vehicle. ....I know this is off topic, but what ever happened to Kyle Sheer?.....I remember one of those laps you was passing him. You still gonna go to the Hays memorial? Take care.

Kyle is living in California now, working a new job..last I heard...I sure wished Kyle could have stuck it out, he had potential. I will be at the Hays memorial but only as a fan and out of respect. I don't have a car at this time. Maybe we can meet up?

I have every intention of being there myself. You think your gonna be hanging around the "8" trailer? Any way, I haven't been in the pits since the late 80's, but had already made plans to get in someones way that night. I hope Thick and TN get to make it too.

I'll be somewhere between the 8 and 55's pits I'm sure...I'm just kind of worried Bill T may cancell this race again. He is getting pretty good at that

Hey bro. I have to agree with the Bill T. Statement. It's amazing to me what was going on there 2 yrs. ago (2,000$ to win slm) to what's going on there today. I'll never understand that. Good lord willing and if Bill T. don't change his mind I'll see you there. Got a buddy that's got a pony car, Tim Thornton, his boy is driving it now, but I'll probably be around his car if he goes. If you hear of anything changing about the race, as in location change, please post, I would like to show my respect as well.
