Terry Smith one of Alabama's own Late Model drivers has been voted in as driver of the week. Terry from Oxford Alabama calls Talladega Short Track "home" and holds the all time track championship. Terry added excitement by adding the #99 in the 5 Crown series recently. One of the best fabrication guys around, some of the people who have had the chance to be around him, say he is a hard worker on and off the track. Super nice, and appreciates the support of his fans and friends. I apologize for not having a picture of Terry and my knowledge of him is very limited. We do wish Terry Smith the best as he finishes out the remainder of the 2006 season and if anyone can share more information on this guy who has it going on at TST and other tracks in the #99 please fill us in and be sure and look for the #99 at a track near you!!

Chris Turley asked me to post these thoughts he had about Terry.
Terry is a very well known person at Talladega Short Track.. He is willing to help any new and upcoming driver.. He has helped me in my racing career since day one he will go out of his way to do anything as far getting parts or letting you bring the car to his shop to set it up completely the way he thinks it should be.. He has helped myself along with a new upcomer Logan Yates that has been doing great since Terry started helping him in the Strompay.com weekly Series at Talladeaga Short Track. Thanks

Thanks I can say he is one of the nicest people we have meet racing. 97 or 98 we raced at TST on a cup weekend terry came by an talked to us & showed us around. We ended up leaving our car at his shop friday night when it rained out so noone would mess with it. Went an rode go carts with his whole bunch. His dad Earl let us have one of his hotel rooms. We was going to sleep in the box van that weekend.

These pictures are from a few years back @ TST. Terry and Tim Roszell, in the second picture, are related and usually pit beside each other at TST.

Terry had a pretty good mentor in his dad Earl Smith. Earl won a heat race at Florence, Ky. a couple of weeks ago. He's gotta be pushing 70....lol
