I just received another photo of Mark for my website. I thought I'd share it here also. This picture was given to me by my friend Noel Wynne of Heber Springs, Arkansas. Noel built a race track in Heber Springs where Mark raced from time to time. This picture is of Mark and his Dad Julian Martin. They are standing next to (I believe) Marks first race car. It ran in the 6 Cyl Class.

Noel Wynne raced in Central Mississippi from 1950 to 1955 and was one of the best. His last year he was the track champ at Jackson's Speedbowl Park. Noel told me that when he started Wynne Stadium he used the same race format that was used during his racing days. It was the first time any of the Arkansas drivers (at least in that area) had ever ran "Time Trials". They had just drown numbers to set the line up. Wynne's Stadium was the track where Mark Martin ran his first time trial. Wynne said he was good at it even back then.
