Beginning his racing career at Talladega Short Track, Chris Turley spent many of his early years racing with two close friends named Blake Collum and Terry Angle. The three of them have all gone on to experience tremendous success in there day to day world with Chris being the only one moving on to better his racing career. When in December of 1997, Chris was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma during his Christmas Vacation (Diagnosed on December 24,1997). Chris ended up spending almost his next two years in St.Jude Childrens Research Hospital, where he spent his 16th birthday.
Then, on Thanksgiving day, 1999 he was able to go home and attend his last 2 years of high school at Oxford High. Since Chris was diagnosed with cancer he has been driving his Jr. Late Model with a Honda Odyssey Steering wheel, because it has a hand throttle on it since he was paralyzed from his waste down from the removal of the tumor, being that is was attached to the spinal cord but wasn't found out until surgery. Chris has regained almost the full amount of strength in his left leg so he can use it for the clutch and brake. There is some strength in the right leg but not enough to use it for the gas because of chemo therapy damaging his nerves leaving him without much feeling.
Chris, one of the Souths most talented JR Late track dirt drivers in America also excels at his favorite hobby of playing Southern All Stars, A Dirt Late Model game made for racing online on your home computer. Email him if you would like a copy of it so you can race on and offline with him (RACING213@aol.com) Then Chris Graduated from Oxford High School in 2001, from there Chris has continued to higher educate his self he currently works at the Anniston Army Depot and currently has his own E-Commerce Store on ebay (D&T MOTORS eBay Store) and also a web site he is running of his own selling new and used Honda parts (D&T MOTORS,INC).
Chris, started back racing in July of 2005. While taking the 2004 and 2005 October Shootout Championship at Coldwater Raceway, he alwasy was the 2001, 2002, and 2005 Track Champion at Talladega Short Track.
In 2006, Chris will make his full size late model debut while chasing the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series.
