Week 13 Cleveland Speedway, TN 5/29/06
The Southern All-Star race scheduled to run last Saturday night at Cleveland was only 18 laps in when the rains came and they had to re-schedule it for today. It was a quick hour to the track and just 32 laps to go, as they lined up in the order they were in when the red flag came out. Just like the race was… (To be continued), God used this application for the drivers meeting. We started the drivers meeting talking of everyone’s thoughts of the race being continued on a later date. The drivers up front were not very happy that the rains came. But the drivers in the back of the pack were open to the opportunity to tune their cars in a little better for the finish. A similar situation when Christ was here was that those disciples and followers of Christ were ready to go with Him to rule and reign right then. But those of us whom were not yet born would rather have the opportunity to tune our lives into Him before the finish. We told the parable of the women awaiting the Master by having oil for their lamps and having the wicks trimmed as they watched and waited. Those ready for the Master were glad when he arrived because they were ready but those unprepared wished He had tarried awhile. I read John 14:2. I, (Jesus), go to prepare a place for you and will come again to receive you unto myself that where I am there you will be also. I explained it this way, When Jesus died on that cross and shed His perfect blood he said loud and clear, “This is TO BE CONTINUED.” Anything I have ever bought and paid for I have taken with me and due to memory, or lack thereof, if I had left without what I purchased, I did return and get it. Christ HAS paid for His believers and followers and IS coming to get us as soon as our place is prepared and God the Father says go get them. I asked, “Are you ready to finish this race?” “Are you ready for His coming back to complete the work He started?” Then I prayed for safety and for the requests I will mention below. As soon as the driver’s meeting ended I hustled up to the tower and prayed a similar devotion for the fans in the stands. Please pray for these that are in dire need of God’s blessings:
A Lowe’s Dirt Track worker—two amputated legs due to a freak accident while packing
The track prior to the races.
Earl-- as he battles severe gout in his legs
Mike—as he faces health issues
Dusty—who was burned in a racecar in Tazewell Saturday
Ray—Health issues
Mike, Ed, BJ—Cancer treatments
Rusty—Facing nerve problems and as he speaks at church on the 7th of June
Kelley’s—continued healing of his eye
Duayne and Jeremy’s—rehabilitation progress
Matt—as he heals
Rocky Glenn—who has fallen and injured his back
Thanks for lifting one or all of these requests to God; the rewards are out of this world!!!
