To be fast you have to slow down. Have you ever heard that racing saying? A good driver knows how to do this. He does not try to win the race on the first lap. If someone is faster at first, he lets them around, but he stays the course and is consistent. If he wins this race, then he was blessed tonight. If he does not win, he keeps digging in, stays the course and stays consistent. He takes one race at a time. That is how we need to be for Jesus. We have to humble ourselves before him. We put others first and we keep going. Jesus did this for us. Death on the cross? Who else would do that for us? We keep digging in and working. If he blesses us with a gift for our works for that day, then we give him praise. If not then we praise him even more. The reward is coming! We must take it one day at a time and stay the course.
(Mark 9:35) Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, "If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all."
The checkered flag will wave for you no matter where you finish. Victory is won!
