In Matthew 14 starting with verse 27, is a good example of faith. Peter asked if it is Jesus, have him come to him on water. Jesus tells him to come. Peter steps out and begins to walk on water, but starts to fear the wind and begins to sink, crying for Jesus to save him. Verse 31: Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. You of little faith, he said, why did you doubt?
Do you do that sometimes? Jesus lays something on your heart or shows you something you need to do. You know He will be with you and it is the right thing to do so you begin to do it. Then, you run into a little barrier or something may not go perfectly, so you start to panic and second guess yourself and cry out for help. We must not doubt that which our Lord has given us to do. He knows you will have rough waters and there will be storms, but rest assured that He will calm the waters and give you clear skies to proceed. And this will be an example to him of your obedience and faith.
Taking your first step is hard. As you walk it will get easier. When the storm comes and the winds are high, will you run or will you lean into it and keep stepping?
