You wake in the morning. You are blessed. You open your eyes and you can see. You are blessed. Every breath is a blessing. Whether it is sunny or raining, you are blessed. Have you thought about that lately? Have you become so used to it now that you do not even think about what a blessing it truly is? I think we really get that way. We go through the same routines and we do not even take time to realize how much we have been truly blessed. We seem to harden our hearts the longer we live. (Proverbs 28:14) “Blessed is the man who always fears the LORD, but he who hardens his heart falls into trouble.” Everything you do, get, give, eat, drink, breath, smell, see, hear, and touch is a blessing. If an accident happens to you, you are blessed. Are you alive? If you fall and break a bone, you are blessed. Did you break two bones? This can go on and on. See we have to look at things from a different side. We have to see that in everything bad that happens to us, things could still be worse so we are blessed. Everything good that happens to us, we are blessed. I watched my school (So. IL Salukis) play in the sweet 16. They lost but they were blessed to be there. They were blessed to get to play basketball. There is always a blessing in everything. What if you lost a child? Your child passes away. You ask how that is a blessing? Well think about it. It would probably hurt worse than anything you had ever experienced. You would be sad and distraught; but think about this: The child would not be a part of this sinful world anymore. Children have their tickets to heaven. They will be with our heavenly father. I am sure you would want to see your child again, so you would give your heart and life to Jesus Christ and that would be a blessing and you would be blessed.
This was just to show you that in all things we are blessed.
Do not harden your heart to everyday blessings while waiting for those stand out things you can call blessings. Every day and in everything, we are blessed.
(Matthew 5:3-12) Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
