I don't realy know how to post photos on this site but check out this link. This is list of 7 photos that I don't know much about. May be you can help IP these guys. misschicken.com/Who%20is%20This.htmDon't know any of those.I remember Ival Cooper,Ellis Palasini,Gene Tappia,Armond Holley,Buddy ,Belinski[had a car painted pink with the left front rim painted half white that you could see it quit spinning when he pulled it off the ground on the straights],Ikey Jerome, etc. in Super Modifieds.Somebody ran a rear engine Super and lost control one night in turn 3 and ran over the top of another car.Latemodels were Freddy Fryar,Ray Putnam,Royce Whitlock,Doug Neuman,Sr. and Jr. Neideckie,Jay Gonzales,Donnie Simpson, etc. Can't remember much about the Hobby class except for a baby blue 46 Chevy driven by a Highway Patrolman from Petal named Ross Shirley. One of the scariest times of my childhood was when i got left at JIS.We went in 2 cars and each thought i was in the other.A highway patrolman ended up taking me from Clinton to Morton where i lived.

34flathead, I sent you an email, see if that works. When I post on here, it takes part of it out for some reason.

Bama, Thanks again... We did it !! To answer your question from above, these cars are not Sprints. They were called "Skeeters".

ok, Skeeters!! I guess you could call me a new comer to dirt track racing. Took my hubby awhile to convince me to go, so I have only been around it 5-6 years. To me it resembled a sprint. The pictures are so interesting to me, thanks for sharing. Hey mcj88 you sure that wasn't done on purpose? JK I can only imagine how scared you was.

Here we go with the "old folk" stories again. When i was a child,we were so poor that we had no toys.We had to find things to do.We would get card board boxes and slide down hills on them, climb up pine trees and see how many trees you could climb over to.Yes a bicycle was a luxury item to us.Iremember a guy having a volkswagon that had a 33 record player in it instead of a 8 track tape player.

I remember doing alot of the same "Back When". The larger the cardboard box, the more fun you could have.

must be why so many kids like to eat dirt!! Born with racing in the blood. Eating dirt and wanting to drive "something"

Back in the 50's Ival drove car # 631. It had a GMC 6cyl truck motor with 5 Carbs. Chicken McComb built the car and it would fly.
